The Los Angeles Youth Orchestra is a diverse group of young musicians from over sixty schools in the Los Angeles area. They have two peforming groups to which students are assigned by age and playing level: the Concert Orchestra is an intermediate-level group; the Symphony Orchestra is an advanced group which performs works in the standard symphonic repertory.
For many of these young people, the Los Angeles Youth Orchestra has become their primary artistic experience, as most schools just don’t have adequate music programs.

As a non-profit organization, the Los Angeles Youth Orchestra relies on the generosity of individuals, foundations, government agencies and corporate sponsors, because tuition only covers one third of our total cost per student.
